He was one of 3 UK Directors at Leyton where he spent ten years and became Leyton’s Head of Tax Compliance and HMRC Dispute Resolution.
He has a wealth of experience in Corporation Tax (working with Ex-HMRC Inspectors & highly experienced Chartered Accountants/Tax Advisors) and Tax Law (working with solicitors and barristers), dealing with the HMRC Enquiry and Dispute Resolution, focussing on innovation incentives, a gold standard of compliance within the tax industry which has led him to be involved in defending the most R&D claims (by volume) in the UK, over 260 claims in HMRC enquiry successfully defended since 2009 with tax benefits of £20m+ upheld.

Career & experience
Simba has over 20 years in accounting and 16 years in Corporation Tax, including R&D Tax.
He has worked across key R&D sectors (Engineering, Science and Software) with companies ranging from FTSE 100 to SMEs. He co-developed multi-faceted approaches for R&D claims dependent on the nature of the projects, company sizes and team structures/sizes.
A combination of practice experience at BDO and industry experience (Muller, Jardine Motors) was his foundation of learning how to deal with complex groups and simple company structures. During his 16 years in R&D Tax, Simba has helped over 2,000 large companies and SMEs secure R&D Tax, including working on some of the UK’s largest construction sector claims by expenditure, as he has been involved in some of the UK’s largest construction companies’ claims.
